Staffordshire Lamp 3136

A free-standing Staffordshire figure of over-sized Afghan hound and man or boy, sitting on base to form a table lamp. Circa 1860.
Over-sized animals were common in Victorian art. Unusual multi-colour version. Delicately painted, especially the detail on the muzzle and eyes. With fine feathering.
Minor wear and firing effects, as you would expect with a true Victorian figure. Vent hole to back of figure.
Figure is 12 inches high, 9 inches wide, 4.25 inches deep (30 cm high, 23 cm wide, 11 cm deep)
22 inches high, 10.25 inches wide, 6.5 inches deep (56 cm high, 26 cm wide, 16.5 cm deep)
