Antique Chests of Drawers & Antique Bachelor's Chests

Antique chests of drawers evolved from coffers in the 17th century, and are still as useful and popular as storage pieces now as they were then. We stock early oak chests of drawers from the 17th century with their characteristic geometric moulded decoration to the front, and antique chests of drawers in oak and mahogany from the 18th century (Georgian period). Mahogany was not imported into England in any volume, and so not widely used in furniture making, until the 1720’s (George I period).
