Antique Cupboards, Welsh Tridarns & Antique Corner Cupboards

Cupboards of various sizes are always useful storage pieces. Press cupboards, or linen presses, were designed for clothes storage. Bread and cheese cupboards, also called food cupboards, were kitchen pieces. But as they provide some much excellent storage they are now also used in living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and studies. Cwpwrdd deuddarns (meaning two-piece cupboard) are a Welsh traditional design, and were used as both kitchen and dining room pieces. We normally have in stock a range of different styles of antique oak cupboards, often from the Georgian period (18th and early 19th century), sometimes late 17th century.

Antique corner cupboards are excellent pieces to make use of the corner space in a room. There are floor standing full-height corner cupboards, and hanging corner cupboards. The antique corner cupboards we sell are generally in oak, often with cross-banding in mahogany or walnut, and are 18th century, from the Georgian period.
