Antique Dining Tables, Gateleg Tables & Farmhouse Tables

The most common styles of country antique dining tables are rectangular farmhouse and refectory tables, and oval gateleg or drop leaf tables. Refectory tables have stretchers connecting the legs both lengthways and sideways, and are most often 17th century oak. Farmhouse tables are 18th or 19th century and come in different woods such as oak, elm and fruitwood. We stock antique Welsh or English oak farmhouse dining tables when we can find them, but these days they are rare and most of the farmhouse tables you will see are French.

Antique gateleg dining tables are most often in oak. The smaller gateleg tables tend to have a more distinct oval shape than larger eight or ten seat tables which are only slightly oval and are closer to circular. We normally stock a range of different sizes of antique English and Welsh oak gateleg tables from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
