Antique Lighting, Mirrors & Glass

The various different forms and antique lighting and mirrors are always popular decorative pieces.

We stock a large range of pairs of antique brass candlesticks from the Georgian and Victorian periods. Electricity was not common in urban houses until the 1930’s (and later for rural properties), and gas lighting was not widely available until the 1800’s. Before this the only form of lighting people had was candlesticks or oil lamps.

Candlesticks from pre-Georgian times, Queen Anne periods and earlier, are much rarer and most often only available as single sticks.

Antique Masons Ironstone vases, from the late Georgian / early Victorian periods, converted into table lamps make wonderful decorative pieces to go on small occasional tables or on a dresser base.

There are a huge range of antique mirrors. The main style we stock are antique dressing table mirrors. These pieces have mirrors which swivel, to allow the lady to adjust the angle whilst dressing and doing her makeup, and little drawers in the base section for storing cosmetic items and / or jewellery. The examples we stock are from the Queen Anne or Georgian periods, most often in mahogany or walnut.

We also stock the occasion antique wall mirror from the Georgian or Victorian periods.
